Peru is one of the world's leading locations for adventure travel and hiking the Inca Trail is an experience you will never forget. We think it is the perfect complement to our Firestone Discoveries line of wines.
The Cápac Ñan Network
Called the Cápac Ñan network, after the Incan Emperor Cápac, the "Inca Trail" is just one of the many trails laid down by the Incas (actually their workers and slaves) around the year 1500. The Incas used these trails to unite their sprawling empire, much as the Romans did before them.
April 2010 Inca Trail Trek
The "Inca Trail" most people refer to leads from the Sacred Valley of Peru to the incredible archaeological site of Machu Picchu. The four-day trek on this path travels through cloud forests, past remote Incan ruins, and over 13,900-foot Dead Woman's Pass in what is one of the most amazing hikes you will ever do.
You have the chance to join us on an April 17-25, 2010 trek organized by Zephyr Adventures as the winner of our Chef Challenge, as our new Firestone Discoveries Pathfinder, or as a valued member of the group. Our nine-day tour starts and ends in Lima, includes a visit to the beautiful city of Cusco, and is highlighted by the four-day Inca Trail trek. You will be walking on the very stones laid down by thousands of workers more than 500 years ago.
We have an incredible local staff of guides, cooks, and porters who take care of our needs while on the trail. You only carry a daypack while our local friends carry our gear, set up our tents, and cook for us. This is camping but luxury camping!
Come to Peru!
Not everyone can win the Chef Challenge or become the new Firestone Discoveries Pathfinder. If you would like to join us on this adventure, the cost is $2500 per person, not including airfare. Please visit the Zephyr Adventures site for complete details and sign up today, as space on this special trip is limited.
